Beyond paintings convey a deep sense of symbolism while expressing a universal message. Aesthetically captivating work, which resonates with dynamic textures and powerful, visceral forms. Thought provoking with erosion representing time, revealing doors and pathways to the unknown. The human experience we all share, going through transitions in our lives where we keep and let go. This is the concept of the body of work, 'Looking Up (and Beyond)'. Erosion can be positive occurrence,slowly dissolving the former and revealing the new, honed future. Personally, I wake up everyday asking myself how I can do better than the day before. It may be something small like remembering to water the flowers or something big like being a more patient and empathetic person. Either way, I allow the defunct to erode and the possibility of the new to come through. The water give movement to the paintings with motifs of a "moon pearl" which is prevalent throughout some of the other paintings in this body of work. The pearls are marking nostalgia, while the moon and celestial bodies are another natural, direct representation of time.
