Unresolved — Interior States

In Unresolved, I explore the interior state of not knowing—not as something inherently negative, but as an inevitable and deeply human space between question and understanding. There are moments when we have not yet reached clarity, when something within us is shifting but has not fully revealed what it will become.

I use layers of deep green, emerald, blue-green and luminous turquoise to create a space that feels simultaneously enclosed and alive. The architectural perspective draws the eye steadily inward through a succession of frames, suggesting that an answer might exist somewhere beyond them. Yet the center remains atmospheric and unresolved. Pale, gestural marks appear almost illuminated against the saturated green, suggesting something emerging without allowing it to become fully defined.

Within my Interior States collection, I am interested in using color, architectural perspective and abstract gesture to construct psychological spaces rather than assigning a single emotion to a particular color. In Unresolved, green becomes complex: it can suggest nature and growth, but also depth, mystery, regeneration and the unknown. The shifting greens mirror the experience of uncertainty itself—something capable of holding both darkness and possibility.

For me, Unresolved is about allowing ourselves to exist within the question. Not every interior state requires an immediate answer. Sometimes we are simply somewhere between what we have known and what has yet to reveal itself.
